Fragments and Chaos

Dense clouds of thought scatter across my mind,  a maze of jumbled words and fleeting fragments.  I try to catch them,  to shape them,  but they slip through like grains of sand.  In this chaos, there’s rhythm—a pulse that speaks of buried ideas and quiet aspirations, waiting to rise above the noise. Life feels like this sometimes— a storm of intentions,  emotions, and  scattered plans.  Yet, within the disarray,  patterns emerge,  connections form, and  meaning is born.  The scattered letters remind me of how, in the mess of daily life, beauty often hides in the most unexpected places. Perhaps the key isn’t control but surrender— to let the randomness dance,  to embrace the unpredictable flow,  and to trust that the pieces will align when the time is right.  The fragments may never form a perfect picture, but maybe, just maybe, they’ll tell a story worth hearing.

Moments

There have been moments in my life where words have utterly failed me, leaving a gaping hole in my heart. It's as though I'm standing at the edge of an abyss, unable to find a way to express the emotions swirling within me. But in those moments of despair, I find solace in the unspoken thoughts that reside deep within me. They're the whispers of my heart that resonate with my soul and speak volumes without uttering a single word. It's a silence that's both deafening and comforting, commanding my full attention and stirring my very being. I've come to realize that sometimes, it's the slightest murmur that has the most profound impact on me. It's the sound of a loved one's breath, the gentle rustle of leaves in the wind, or the soft hum of a melody that reaches me on a subconscious level. These are the moments that connect me to my emotions and remind me of the depth and complexity of the human experience. It's in these moments that I realize...

Face Without a Self

I was fourth in line, staring at the back of a denim jacket and pretending not to read the pastries twice. The man ahead of me kept adjusting his AirPods. I kept adjusting my thoughts. The café was full of the usual late afternoon static—laptop clatter, jazz no one listens to, baristas calling names like incantations. I ordered my coffee—black, no room—and moved to the pick-up area like someone playing a role they knew too well. That’s when I noticed the girl by the window. Not looking outside, not reading, not even pretending to. Just holding her phone up to her face—slow, deliberate, as if asking permission from her own image. A few filters later, her features glowed. Skin blurred to impossibility. Eyes enlarged just enough to seem slightly haunted. The picture looked nothing like the girl I was watching. But she smiled at it. Not vainly. Almost gratefully. I don’t use filters—not out of principle, just confusion. I can never find the right one. Nothing ever feels like me. Or ma...

Moonstruck

Last night, I was having the usual neurotic fixation with the moon. I was talking to her, admiring her light and beauty… but to my dismay, the clouds covered her up and it felt like the moon decided to close her doors on me. In a couple of minutes more, the rain started to fall. I guess it’s her tears… I guess it’s her way of pouring out her sadness… It must be pretty lonely up there, shining her light to people so they may find their way out of the dark night, sending romantic moonbeams to lovers in love and soothing crushed souls with her consoling silvery luminescence. It’s like the moon have these invisible arms that hug people in despair (hug me!)… but the ironic thing is that, is there someone out there who embraces her back? Is there something that consoles her as well? Does she receive appreciation with those romantic beams that she so willingly give? And this is what I’m doing. Trying to give something back to her… I maybe an insignificant speck of dust in this vast universe...

Isang Dosenang Randomness

2. " The universe is not made up of atoms, it is made up of tiny stories " ika nga ni Joseph Gordon-Levitt  sa kanyang children's book na the Tiny book of Tiny Stories, sabayan pa natin ng "The world is made up of facts, not of things" na sinabi ng pilosopong si Wittgenstein sa kanyang Tractatus. Napaka radikal na sabihing ang pisikal na anyo ng mundo ay walang katotohanan, di naman yan ang punto. Maganda ding pagisipan na s...

Understanding a Problematic Non-Problem

I once believed that no one could understand me, that my pain was mine alone, a sacred private wound no one could touch. This belief carried the weight of isolation, a shield against the world and its indifference. But, in truth, the arrogance of that thought is its own trap. It is not suffering that is private, nor understanding that belongs solely to the individual. Understanding, like truth, is born from reasoning, not from solitary pain. To claim ownership of understanding is to forget that truth is something shared—not a fortress to guard, but a bridge to cross. It’s easy to get lost in the duality of our lives—the physical world that demands our attention and the mental world that creates our reality. We draw lines between them, as if they were separate realms, but they are not. We are creatures of both, shaped by the tension between the two. Truth, in all its forms, is not something we possess. It is a communion, a moment of resonance between minds, fleeting but real. The ha...

Petrichor

Petrichor is the scent of rain on dry earth, or the scent of dust after rain. The word is constructed from Greek, petros, meaning stone + ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology. It is defined as "the distinctive scent which accompanies the first rain after a long warm dry spell". Last night I made my plan to run early in the morning. I woke up at 4 am to hear the beautiful sound of the rain. Since my work starts at 4pm (12 hours to do anything I want to do) I decided to do my routine, some push ups, boil water, make coffee, get my laptop, light a cigarette and sit on the porch.  I was enjoying the serenity of the rain and each drop sounded like someone is playing some notes in his piano. Since I live in a weird place where your nearest neighbor is half a kilometer away, I can’t hear anything except the melody that the rain was playing. I just sat there relishing and enjoying every second of the moment. Petrichor, I remember that word. F...

Morning Moon

Tulad ng dark side of the moon. Yung lighted side lang ang tangi nating nakik...

C'est La Vie

What’s the worth of utterly accepting life in all its’ pains and glories through complete surrender and having a full  Dionystic attitude? Does Nietzsche's ‘ amor-fati ’ justify the absence of regret and resentment?  In the first place, how should I begin with this rambling?  The answer perhaps, is through another question about regret and a pseudo-philosophical treatment of this. Such is life – too easy to say, yet indescribable in many aspects. It’s just difficult to understand it, additionally, it’s difficult to limit life into something that just randomly happens. We are thinkers and being such, we clamor for reasons behind everything. There SHOULD be a reason behind life and there must ABSOLUTELY BE A REASON for everything that’s happening. (without thinking we're just crazy to assume that there is a magnanimous ecclesiastical destiny that governs life) Life is maybe a very simple concept but was (and is) subjected to multiple definitions. I am even wond...

The Soft Violence of Nostalgia

There’s a kind of quiet violence in nostalgia. It doesn’t hit you all at once—it slips in gently, like the softest of whispers, and before you know it, you're drowning in it. The past, once a source of comfort, becomes a place you can never return to. And yet, you keep going back, searching for something you can never hold again. How strange it is, that the very memories that once warmed us, now tear at us with a tenderness we don’t know how to escape. We remember those moments with a bittersweet ache—those sunlit afternoons, those laughs shared like nothing could ever hurt us. Back when the world was wide, and we were still so sure. But with every recollection, there’s a sting. A reminder that those days are gone, and we are not who we were. That somehow, even the most beautiful moments can become burdens. The beauty of the past becomes a shadow, pulling us back, trapping us in a version of ourselves that no longer exists. It’s not that we regret those days. No, we cherish th...

A Memory of Bliss Park

There’s this soft, secret voice that lingers in the quiet spaces of my thoughts—memory, I think. It has a way of twisting everything into something prettier, more manageable, more… manageable in a way that lets me live with it. It’s like a song that plays on repeat, and no matter how much I know the lyrics are flawed, they’re still the only ones I can sing along to. I find myself remembering moments that, if I were truly honest, weren’t all that beautiful. The pain wasn’t soft then; it was jagged, cutting through everything I thought I knew. Yet somehow, when I look back now, those same moments are wrapped in this nostalgic haze, like a filter over a blurry photo. I’ll see the cracks in the walls of my life, the broken places that didn’t heal right, but somehow those jagged edges shine like they’re meant to. It’s strange, how memory can romanticize the wreckage. There are stories I tell myself now, stories of what I was, what I could have been, what I once felt. I twist the pain i...

Foggy Musings

Strolling through our enchanted path, The righteous Heaven paid a visit, Descending from its huddled spot Misty Clouds! you won’t believe it. It’s just water floating in the air, I thought “Or Is it?” was my afterthought, The park was filled with laughing and giggling, From Kids playing, running and hiding. But to opportunists this fog means fortune Stalking walkers with evil intentions, To leap and attack when no one’s in sight, As a predator hunting its prey at night. A hazy fog caressing my cheeks, Admiring the beauty of this immaculate mist, Inspired by this vapor, I’ll last for a week, And think of the two souls who almost kissed!  Unobstructed vision is an impossibility, As perceptions create my reality, This fog, a being so profound Answers to what is it, is still unfound. …and hoping that it will never be found.

To See a World in A Grain of Sand

To find the vastness of a world contained within a grain of sand is to learn that meaning often lives in the smallest details—those fragments overlooked in the rush of everyday life. This truth asks us to slow down, to soften our gaze until the invisible becomes visible. “To see a world in a grain of sand,” Trust is never simple. It is a fragile negotiation between yearning and hesitation, a delicate dance where hope and doubt circle one another endlessly. Dreams may stretch high, aspiring toward the infinite, yet shadows of uncertainty pull them earthward, reminding us that progress is often tentative, fragile. “And heaven on a wild flower,” Connection is rare and wild, like a flower blooming unexpectedly in barren soil. It defies explanation and resists containment, thriving best when seen without judgment or expectation. In these moments of quiet encounter, the extraordinary quietly reveals itself. Our emotions are more than reactions; they are the outcome of what we choose to bel...
