The Abyss Within

We were down to the last box. The walls were bare, echoing in a way they hadn’t since we moved in. There’s a strange silence to empty rooms — not peace, not absence, but something heavier. Like the air knows what’s no longer being said. I sat on the floor where the couch used to be. There was a faint imprint on the carpet — the ghost of comfort, or routine, or both. I traced it with my fingers like that would help me remember who I was when I still belonged here. You don’t realize how much of your identity gets stored in spaces — in chipped mugs and drawer handles, in hallway shadows and the way light used to fall at 4:17 p.m. And when you leave, it doesn’t all come with you. Some parts stay behind, hidden in the corners you forgot to clean. The real abyss isn’t the fear of what’s next. It’s this: The stillness between no longer and not yet. Where memory becomes unreliable, and the self starts to blur. Everyone talks about the grief of endings, but no one warns you about the sil...

Caffeinated and Nicotined Thoughts

In a fraction of a millisecond When all the light has disappeared Gazing at a barren page of an endless fantasy sickened by the filth of autonomous reasoning wondering, if thoughts can be leashed. Hoping hearts can be locked, And life be painted black. Apathy seems to be reasonable, Faith torn, Trust and its thorns, I failed to see How blind can one be? That I am falling from this plight, Pulling people down to oblivion. Cornucopia of meaningless actualization Sinking down to damnation. Pencil sketches of emotions once had With every line drawn manifests pain, Every curve reveals a dying soul, Every smudge discloses the filthy self. Harmonic rhythm strummed, Each note expresses repressed prayers Each pluck conveys a melodious quandary Chord transitions leading to a song of tragedy. Poetic inscriptions on parched wood, Every word, filled with subliminal truths, Every rhyme filled with drowning promises, Caring for things to divert this reality As I speak the language of my dreams, A d...

Bastardizing Nietzsche

The abyss calls not from a distance but from the marrow of our bones. To look into it is to stand before the essence of what we are. Nietzsche knew it well—the abyss is not a metaphor, but a living, breathing presence within us. And to stare into it, to confront it head-on, is to challenge the very fabric of our being. But here lies the paradox: in facing it, we don’t fall in. No. We transcend it. We become something more, something that dares to live at the edge of everything we are told to fear. We are conditioned to avoid the abyss, aren’t we? It lurks in the quiet corners of our darkest thoughts, the edges of our deepest fears. It’s that gnawing feeling that tells us we are not enough, that our lives are but fleeting whispers in the wind. Yet Nietzsche didn’t fear the abyss. He beckoned us toward it, urging us to walk through the darkness—not as victims, but as victors. “He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he become a monster,” he warned. But the abyss ...
