Echoes of Solitude

Silence is not empty—it is a room where the walls are made of mirrors, and every reflection is a question you’ve been too busy to answer. I sit with it often, this absence of sound, this weight of nothing pressing against my ribs. At first, it feels like drowning. Then, like floating. Then, like neither—just a suspended moment where the mind, starved of distraction, begins to feed on itself.   What are you afraid of?   the quiet asks.   Everything,   I think.   Name one,   it insists. And so I do. Solitude peels back the layers we wear for others until only the raw, unedited self remains. There is no audience here, no performance to sustain—just the slow, uncomfortable intimacy of your own company. You realize, with a dull ache, how much of your life is built on avoiding this exact confrontation. The things we call "loneliness" are often just truths we’ve been running from. I used to think silence was passive. Now I know it’s the most aggressive trut...

Against False Light and the Cult of Safety

There is a dangerous comfort in the allure of light—an intoxicating promise that the path is clearer, the way easier, if only we stay within its warmth. But light can deceive.  The light we chase often conceals more than it reveals, casting shadows where the truth lies hidden, muted beneath the glow. We are taught to seek clarity, to avoid the darkness, as if the absence of light is inherently perilous. Yet, is it not in the shadows, in the absence of external illumination, that we come to see ourselves most clearly? To shatter the lamps is not to reject light, but to abandon the reliance on artificiality, on the comfort of being told what is good, what is right, and what is true.  The pursuit of truth often lies in the untamed, in the darkness that offers space for reflection and revelation. It is in this darkened space that we are not shielded by comforting assumptions but confronted with the rawness of existence.  There, in the absence of blinding lights, we have no c...

Sarcasm

In the hazy depths of this coffee shop's smoky veil, I sit alone, a contemplative soul in need of a wake-up call. A mere slap, some may say, could shake me from this reverie, Yet, I sense a greater force within, a destructive energy, Unbeknownst to me, seeking solace, seeking resolution.   My restless mind, forever longing to tidy the chaos, A manifestation of pride, this belief I hold, That I alone possess the power to mend the broken pieces, To restore order in a world perceived as disarrayed.   But now I see, with newfound clarity, That this desire stems from an egocentric pride, A futile attempt to bend the world to my will, To craft it as I envision, to fit my longing gaze.   Yet, can we truly seek answers in the general, the mundane? Can spontaneity hold the key to our liberation, When it was spontaneity that brought us to this precipice, To this crossroad of uncertainty and introspection?   For truth, they say, is a d...

Against the Pursuit of Happiness

The truth is not hidden in the fleeting smiles we chase, but in the stillness that comes with truly seeing. And in that seeing, we become more than content—we become awake, truly alive. The clarity we seek does not promise comfort or ease; it is sharp, cutting through the veil of what we believe we need. In that sharpness, we are forced to confront the weight of our existence, the choices we have made, and the ones still waiting for us. Clarity doesn’t whisper; it roars with a quiet intensity, breaking us open. It reveals the lies we tell ourselves, the excuses that hold us captive, and the dreams that were never ours to begin with. And in that brutal revelation, there is freedom. Because once we see, we cannot unsee. And when we stop chasing happiness, we finally start to live the lives we were meant to, not in pursuit of joy, but in pursuit of the truth that makes joy irrelevant. In the end,  clarity isn’t a destination; it’s a radical transformation that leaves nothing untouch...

Dark Side of the Moon and the Tip of the Iceberg

In the hushed solitude of night, under a sky punctuated by celestial wonders, I find myself contemplating the enigma of the moon’s dark side and the iceberg’s tip—the eternal symbols of the hidden and the revealed,  urging us to bridge the chasm between the visible and the concealed. You see, the moon presents to us only one face. The other side, the dark side, remains perpetually out of view, a silent expanse shrouded in mystery. It’s not merely a physical obscurity but a profound metaphor for the uncharted territories within us. This dark side is not just a void; it’s a space brimming with the shadows of our deepest fears, our unspoken desires, the parts of ourselves we keep hidden. It’s the silent echo of our inner worlds, unexamined and unspoken. In embracing this dark side, we confront the uncomfortable truths about ourselves. What lies in the far reaches of our inner moon? Perhaps it’s the grief we’ve buried, the dreams we’ve abandoned, the truths we dare not speak. This dark...
